It’s the usual routine – coffee and grab the iPhone to check email, Facebook, Twitter and AP Mobile News, which this morning posted the article: “Need A Receipt? We’ll Email It To You”.
The piece mentioned that Nordstrom, Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy will email you your receipts – it’s about time; Apple has been doing it for years!
And, according to the article “Retailers ask “receipt in the bag or via email?”” it is healthier for you:
Furthermore, there could be health benefits to doing away with receipts printed on thermal paper. This type of paper is coated with a chemical called Bisphenol-A (BPA), a proven endocrine disruptor, which because it is not “bound” to the surface of the paper can be transferred to the skin and absorbed into the body causing a variety of health problems.
At DocLanding we are enabling a better way – why mail them to your already un-navigable inbox; email them to username@doclanding.com, your cloud document storage inbox. The email and attachment will be processed and available for you to organize into your folders – analogous to Quickbooks. This will enable a number of exciting actions:
1) Resolve disputes with retailers
2) Take advantage of those mail in rebates
3) Share the receipts via DocLanding or email with trusted parties like your accountant
4) Since the receipts are OCRed and searchable, you will be able to locate a wayward receipt in a microsecond
Stay tuned for more exciting feature previews from DocLanding.
