Users Can Store and Share Documents without Privacy or Security Concerns
Omaha, NE., Jan. 30, 2012 – Timothy Campbell, CEO of DocLanding, wants Google users to know they have a choice.
“If you are concerned about Google’s announcement that they will begin to merge data from all of their services, including Google Docs, then store your data elsewhere,” Campbell said. “This is a great opportunity for consumers to look around and discover alternative solutions like DocLanding.”
Google began sending emails to users late last week announcing that it will replace 60 different privacy policies for its various platforms with one. Under the new policy, which goes into effect March 1, Google will merge data and history from all of its services including GMail, YouTube and Google Docs. Google has offered to provide copies of all data to users who want who want to close their Google accounts and move their content elsewhere.
“Users should read the new policy and make an informed decision,” Campbell said. “If you want to know that your content is private and only shared with those you chose, DocLanding is a great alternative. We take people’s privacy and security very seriously and we’re not in the advertising game, so we won’t be mining your demographic information.”
DocLanding is offering Google users a free month of its Personal Plus or Business storage plans when they move their content before March 1, 2012. DocLanding offers a basic plan at no charge, but the Personal Plus and Business plans provide more storage and more users, Campbell said.
DocLanding, an Omaha-based company that specializes in cloud-based digital content storage, has more than 13 million files stored on its private cloud. Users can access their data from any computer or Apple mobile devices. Paper documents can be scanned and uploaded directly to DocLanding. All files stored on DocLanding are searchable.
“Our search feature makes it easy to organize and manage documents, not just store them,” Campbell said. “Our versioning makes it easy to collaborate with people you choose to share documents with and keep track of changes.”
People interested in the month of free storage should go to the company’s website for details.
